Inclusions of Star Health Young Star Plan

Young Star Insurance Policies can be purchased either as an individual policy or as a family floater policy. At the individual level, the sum insured options range from Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 1 crore, and at the family level, Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 1 crore. There are two types of policies available with this policy: gold and silver. As part of the Star Young Star Health Insurance policy, you are covered for the following: 

  • Expenses associated with hospitalisation - There is coverage for hospitalisation expenses, including room rent, nursing charges, specialist fees, and ICU costs
  • Charges for emergency road ambulances - When an insured must be transported to the hospital immediately due to a medical emergency, ambulance charges are covered.
  • Expenses associated with pre-hospitalization - The health insurance covers medical expenses incurred prior to hospital admission for a period of 60 days.
  • Expenses incurred after hospitalisation - The plan covers medical expenses incurred up to 90 days after the patient has been discharged.
  • Procedures for daycare - The insurance covers medical procedures requiring less than 24 hours in the hospital.
  • Opinion on medical matters via email- Experts on the insurer's panel can issue e-medical opinions to insureds

    You can pay your Young Star premium quarterly, half-yearly, annually, biennially, or triennially.

    Does Young Star offer any discounts?

     Insureds who enrol in this policy before the age of 36 and continue to renew it till they are 40 years of age will receive a 10% discount on subsequent renewal premiums.

    How does the Young Star insurance policy work if the sum insured and restoration benefit have been exhausted?

    A Young Star Health Insurance policy will terminate immediately when the sum insured and restoration benefit have been exhausted.

    Is it possible to cancel my Young Star insurance policy with Star Health?

    From the date of receipt of the policy, there is a 15-day free-look period to review the terms & conditions. Between these 15 days, you can return the policy. Health insurance policies that are newly issued are only eligible for this free-look period.

    There is a limit to how many claims I can make under my Star Young Star Health Insurance plan. Can I file more than one claim?

    As long as your sum insured limit is not exhausted, you can make unlimited claims under the Young Star Plan. A claim cannot be filed if the limits of your insurance plan have been reached.
